"Creating Structures and Spaces from Community-Engaged Scholarship: The Global Alliance and Community-Engaged Research"   Universiat Sians, Malaysia, Living Knowledge Network and Office of Community-Based Research, University of Victoria, Canada

Format:

This roundtable is led by and builds on the work of the Global Network for Community-Engaged Research.  A focus will be on exploring ways that national, regional and global networking can be used to create new institutional spaces in our universities and communities and to move from knowledge mobilization to policy changes in governments.

Questions:

  • What national and regional networks exist in the field of community-based research?
  • What are the characteristics that make them effective?
  • How can they be used to strengthen local action? How do we harness the collective energies of an emerging global network of civil society and university research partnerships for transformation in a time of global crisis?
